Description: Section, Code violation count.

What is cienaCesPmTdmOCnPortCurrBinCvs?

This counts the Section-layer Code Violation count on this SONET/SDH port: B1-byte parity error events detected at the Section layer during the bin, per the MIB's description. CVS on this port is the rawest bit-error indicator available for this Section, measured directly off the incoming optical signal before any Line-layer processing -- a rising CVS with a flat Line-layer CVL for the same bin suggests the errors are being absorbed/corrected before they propagate up, whereas both rising together points at a more serious fault; because this bin is the still-open, currently-accumulating interval, its value is only a partial count until the bin's Duration elapses and it rolls into history -- polling it twice a few minutes apart is the fastest way to catch a fault building up in near real time. For instance 31 Section code violations in this bin against a stable Line-layer CVL for the same interval would suggest a marginal but not yet service-affecting physical link on this port.
