Setting this CienaStatsClear object to clear(1), per its DESCRIPTION, wipes the running statistics counters for the PM TCA feature on this one instance -- specifically the counts of TCA events and processed/discarded samples -- without touching the instance's actual traffic or error PM data. Because this only clears the TCA bookkeeping counters and not the underlying error/traffic statistics, an operator can reset 'how many times has this port alerted' back to a clean baseline (say, after tuning the thresholds) without losing any of the DS3 or Basic Tx performance history collected up to that point. For example, clearing this after raising the AdjustmentThreshold on a noisy port zeroes out cienaCesPmAdjustmentTcaEventsTotal for that instance so the next reporting period reflects only TCA behavior under the new, presumably better-tuned, threshold.
