This counts multicast frames transmitted out this interface. A TxMcastPkts count for the current, still-accumulating short interval bin that tracks a known replicated stream (video, routing updates) is normal, but the same counter climbing on a port serving only unicast subscribers on this switch would indicate a multicast group is being forwarded somewhere it shouldn't be. For example, TxMcastPkts on this port rising in step with a new IPTV channel being added upstream for this in-progress short-interval bin is the expected, benign case worth confirming against the multicast group table.
