This object reports the receive throughput of this PM instance in bytes per second, as stated in the MIB description. Unlike the cumulative octet counters elsewhere in this MIB, this is already a computed rate, so an admin can read it directly as the instantaneous receive line rate at the moment the bin was sampled instead of having to take a delta between two polls. For example, a reading of 59,329,473 bytes/sec on a port provisioned for 1 Gbps service would indicate the link is running close to its ceiling, which is worth cross-checking against BasicRxDroppedBytes for the same bin to see if the port is saturating.
