Description: Mapping of the fields within this profile which have been declared invalid. The value of any fields indicated by this object within the same table row should be treated as untrustworthy.
What is cienaCesPmBasicOduCurrBinFieldsInvalid?
This is a bitmap (PmProfileFieldMapBasicOdu) that marks which counters within this same profile/row have been declared invalid, per the MIB's description, meaning any field flagged here should be treated as untrustworthy rather than simply absent. Unlike the 'unsupported' bitmap, this one flags fields that the device did attempt to measure but doesn't trust -- e.g. because the bin was affected by a reset or clock event mid-measurement -- so an admin seeing an alarming CV or SES spike in this same row should check this bitmap before escalating, since the spike might be a measurement artifact rather than a real event; because this bin is the still-open, currently-accumulating interval, its value is only a partial count until the bin's Duration elapses and it rolls into history -- polling it twice a few minutes apart is the fastest way to catch a fault building up in near real time. If the bit for EsOdu is set here for a given row, an admin would flag any errored-second value reported in that same row as unreliable for that interval rather than feed it into a trend chart.
