This counter reports the total number of frames of ingress traffic on this element that matched the configured access/classification rule being measured here. Read alongside the matching Stats-bin AccessHitBytes counter, it lets you track whether the average frame size hitting this rule has changed over the period since the last manual clear, which a single recent 15-minute bin can't show you since that only reflects one narrow window. For instance, if this life-to-date average frame size looks nothing like what the current 15-minute History bins are showing, that gap is itself a clue that the customer's traffic pattern has recently changed rather than staying constant since the rule was created.
