Module: CIENA-CES-NOTIFICATIONS-CONTROL
OID (symbolic): CIENA-CES-NOTIFICATIONS-CONTROL::cienaCesPortAllTrapState
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1271.2.2.1.1.1.3
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: CienaGlobalState
Access: read-write
Description: This object indicates whether the device generates any port related traps.
What is cienaCesPortAllTrapState?
This read-write switch is a master control for whether the device generates any port-related traps at all, apparently acting as a top-level gate above the more specific enhanced- and standard-link-trap controls seen above. If this master switch is disabled, no port traps of any kind will be sent regardless of how the individual enhanced/standard trap-state objects are configured, making this the first thing to check when a device appears to have completely stopped reporting any port events. An admin who enabled both the standard and enhanced link trap objects but still sees zero port alarms should check this master port-trap switch before assuming the individual settings are misconfigured.
