Description: Setting this object to 'disabled' causes PBB-TE related traps to be suppressed.

What is cienaCesPbtFaultTrapState?

This object is a global on/off switch, of type CienaGlobalState, for all PBB-TE (Provider Backbone Bridging-Traffic Engineering) fault traps on the device, per its description. PBB-TE tunnels are provisioned point-to-point paths rather than spanning-tree-derived paths, so a fault trap here is how the operator learns that an explicitly engineered backbone tunnel has failed over or gone down, rather than relying on generic link-down traps. An operator running a PBB-TE-based Ethernet backbone would leave this 'enabled' so a failed traffic-engineered tunnel between two POPs is reported immediately instead of being discovered only when customer traffic drops.
