What is cienaCesCfmSyntheticLossNearFaultTrapState?
This CienaGlobalState switch controls whether the switch sends CFM Y.1731 synthetic-loss-measurement near-end fault and clear traps, or suppresses them, as stated in its description. Synthetic loss measurement periodically injects test frames on a maintenance association to estimate frame loss on the near (local) end of the path, so this trap is the mechanism that tells you when loss on your own side of an Ethernet service crosses a fault threshold and later clears. Setting it to 'disabled' on a low-priority test MEP stops it from flooding the trap log with near-end loss alarms while the far-end trap (a related object) can remain active.
