Module: CIENA-CES-NOTIFICATIONS-CONTROL

OID (symbolic): CIENA-CES-NOTIFICATIONS-CONTROL::cienaCesCfmDelayFaultTrapState

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1271.2.2.1.1.1.22

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: CienaGlobalState

Access: read-write

Description: Setting this object to 'disabled' causes CFM Y.1731 delay measurement traps to be suppressed.

What is cienaCesCfmDelayFaultTrapState?

This read-write switch controls traps generated when CFM's Y.1731 delay measurement (DM) function detects that one-way or two-way frame delay on a monitored Ethernet path has crossed a configured threshold, and disabling it suppresses those specific delay-related alerts. This is distinct from a basic connectivity fault trap because a path can remain fully connected, with no CFM fault, while still degrading in latency enough to affect delay-sensitive traffic like voice or video. A customer reporting choppy VoIP calls over a service that shows no connectivity faults would point an admin toward checking this delay-measurement trap category specifically, since latency degradation without an outright fault is exactly what Y.1731 DM is designed to catch.
