cienaCesExtAclEntryNotifSrcInetAddr

Module: CIENA-CES-ACL-MIB

OID (symbolic): CIENA-CES-ACL-MIB::cienaCesExtAclEntryNotifSrcInetAddr

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1271.2.1.25.1.2.2.1.8

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: InetAddress

Access: read-only

Description: Duplicate of cienaCesExtAclEntrySrcInetAddr for display purposes. This object indicates the source IP network address that will be authorized. This OID should be used in conjunction with cienaCesExtAclEntryNotifSrcInetAddrType and should be compliant with RFC 4001 InetAddressType.

What is cienaCesExtAclEntryNotifSrcInetAddr?

Like its address-type sibling, this field is explicitly a display-purposes duplicate of cienaCesExtAclEntrySrcInetAddr, carrying the actual source network address being authorized directly inside this extended-ACL notification trap rather than requiring the receiver to separately query the base table. An admin's SIEM or audit log captures this value at the moment the notification fires as the historical record of what source address was authorized in this extended ACL entry, self-contained within the trap itself. For example, a security audit trail built purely from these notification traps can reconstruct the full history of authorized extended-ACL source addresses over time without needing continuous polling of the live configuration table.
