cienaCesExtAclEntryNotifDstInetAddrType
Module: CIENA-CES-ACL-MIB
OID (symbolic): CIENA-CES-ACL-MIB::cienaCesExtAclEntryNotifDstInetAddrType
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1271.2.1.25.1.2.2.1.10
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: InetAddressType
Access: read-only
Description: Duplicate of cienaCesExtAclEntryDstInetAddrType for display purposes. This object indicates the IP network type which will be authorized. This OID specifies the Inet address type of the OIDs cienaCesExtAclEntryNotifDstInetAddr and cienaCesExtAclEntryNotifDstInetPrefixLen. When representing: ipv4 : cienaCesExtAclEntryNotifDstInetAddr should be compliant with InetAddressIPv4 from RFC 4001 ipv6 : cienaCesExtAclEntryNotifDstInetAddr should be compliant with InetAddressIPv6 from RFC 4001
What is cienaCesExtAclEntryNotifDstInetAddrType?
This is the destination-side counterpart to cienaCesExtAclEntryNotifSrcInetAddrType, a display-purposes duplicate of cienaCesExtAclEntryDstInetAddrType carried directly in the extended-ACL notification trap so a receiver can interpret the accompanying destination address's family without a separate table query. An admin's trap-parsing tooling needs this specifically because extended ACL entries in this MIB apparently authorize based on both source and destination network criteria, unlike the simpler source-only entries in the base ACL table, so both sides need their own address-type context in the notification. For example, a receiving management system decoding this trap uses this field to correctly parse the accompanying destination address as IPv4 or IPv6 before logging the full source-and-destination authorization event.
