Module: CIE1000-IP-MIB
OID (symbolic): CIE1000-IP-MIB::cie1000IpStatisticsGlobalsIpv6ReasmFails
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.832.1.102.1.5.1.2.14
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: Unsigned32
Access: read-only
Description: Number of failures detected by the IP re-assembly algorithm.
Note: this is not necessarily a count of discarded IP fragments because some algorithms (notably the algorithm in RFC 815) can lose track of the number of fragments by combining them as they are received.
When tracking interface statistics, the counter of the interface to which these fragments were addressed is incremented. This interface might not be the same as the input interface for some of the fragments.
Discontinuities in the value of this counter may occur at re-initialization of the system, and at other times as indicated by the value of DiscontinuityTime.
What is cie1000IpStatisticsGlobalsIpv6ReasmFails?
Reports the number of failures encountered by the IPv6 reassembly algorithm when trying to reconstruct fragmented datagrams, useful for detecting reassembly problems.
