What is gponOnuWanConfigMtu?
This sets the maximum transmission unit for frames on this WAN connection; PPPoE deployments commonly need this lowered below the Ethernet default of 1500 to account for the PPPoE header's overhead. An admin who doesn't adjust this on a PPPoE connection will see intermittent large-download failures caused by fragmentation, a classic symptom traced back to an MTU mismatch. For example, setting this to 1492 (1500 minus 8 bytes of PPPoE overhead) is the standard fix for that fragmentation-related slowness on PPPoE connections.
