Misconfiguring this profile is a classic cause of complaints about delayed dial tone or calls that start dialing before the subscriber has finished entering digits. For example, a digit map tuned for 10-digit dialing would cause a 3-digit emergency call to sit waiting for more digits instead of connecting immediately, unless the profile explicitly carves out an exception for it.
