What is gponOnuGemPortNum?
This reports how many GEM (GPON Encapsulation Method) ports are currently mapped on this ONU -- GEM ports are the traffic-bearing tunnels GPON uses to carry each service's Ethernet frames across the fiber. A change in this count reflects a real change in how many active service flows the ONU is carrying. For example, this value rising from 2 to 4 shows a second service (like an added IPTV VLAN) was just provisioned onto the unit.
