What is gponOltPortStatus?
This read-only INTEGER (up/down) reports the actual operational link status of the PON port, reflecting whether the optics are truly passing signal rather than just being administratively enabled. Admins use it together with the admin switch to distinguish a deliberate outage from a real fault. For example, seeing gponOltPortStatus report down(2) while the port's admin switch shows enabled points to a real physical problem, such as a cut fiber or disconnected SFP, rather than the port simply being turned off.
