What is gponOltPortDdmTemperature?
This read-only OCTET STRING reports the real-time operating temperature of the PON port's SFP transceiver via its Digital Diagnostic Monitoring interface. Admins watch this for gradual drift that predicts an eventual optic failure or a cooling problem in that OLT slot. For example, a technician checking gponOltPortDdmTemperature while troubleshooting intermittent PON dropouts finds the transceiver running abnormally hot, near 70 degrees Celsius, pointing to a cooling problem in that shelf slot rather than a fiber issue.
