What is pportInErrorCells?
This counts ATM cells received on this physical port that were flagged as containing an error. Because this counts cell-level errors specifically, a rising value here on one port, especially without a matching rise in HCS or BIP counters, points to a cell-payload integrity problem on this link rather than a framing or physical-layer issue. A sudden spike in pportInErrorCells right after a fiber patch change on this port would suggest the new patch introduced signal degradation at the cell layer.
