Description: This entry holds a count of the number of Unconfigured ATM cells received. This entry applies to ATM pports only.
What is pportAtmUnconfiguredCells?
This counts how many ATM cells this port has received that carried a VPI/VCI not matching any provisioned circuit. A nonzero and climbing value here on this specific port means either a far-end device is misconfigured to still send toward a deleted or never-provisioned circuit, or a provisioning step on this switch was missed, and pportAtmLastUnconfiguredVpi/Vci tell you which circuit to chase down. A sudden burst of several thousand unconfigured cells right after a PVC was deleted on this port confirms the far-end CPE has not yet stopped transmitting to that torn-down circuit.
