What is pportAdminInterface?
This is the administratively configured interface type, the counterpart to the read-only pportInterface, specifying which physical standard (V.35, X.21, SONET, fiber mode, etc.) this Multi-Interface Port or ATM-IWU should expect. Setting this correctly tells the card which electrical or optical standard to drive on this specific port, so a mismatch against the interface adapter actually installed will prevent the port from establishing a link even if the cabling is otherwise correct. Swapping a V.35 interface adapter for an EIA-530 one on this port requires updating pportAdminInterface from v35 to eia530 before the link will train up again.
