pportAPSconfigStatus

Module: CASCADE-MIB

OID (symbolic): CASCADE-MIB::pportAPSconfigStatus

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.277.1.4.2.1.139

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: Status of APS pport configuration. The not-configured status indicates the pport APS feature is not configured or it is a non-APS pport. The valid state indicates the pport APS function is configured and has been validated by the APS manager. The invalid state indicates that the APS manager has detected a conflict between the working line and protection line pport configurations. The user must clear the invalid state by changing the configuration of the misconfigured pport as soon as possible. Check pportAPSadminDir, pportAPSlineType, pportAPSrevertiveMode, and pportAPSwtrPeriod for any misconfigurations.

What is pportAPSconfigStatus?

This reports whether this port's APS configuration is not configured (feature off or a non-APS port), valid (configured and validated by the APS manager), or invalid (a conflict was detected between the working and protection line configurations). An invalid status here on this specific port means the APS manager has already detected that the paired working/protection configuration is inconsistent, and per the description the admin must actively correct the misconfigured port's settings themselves; the invalid state does not self-resolve. Seeing pportAPSconfigStatus report invalid on this port after changing pportAPSpairedSlotId elsewhere in the pair would mean that change introduced a conflict that needs to be corrected on one of the two paired ports before APS protection can be trusted again.
