Description: The time, measured in seconds, that Trunk Protocol waits before transitioning the state of an unresponsive trunk from UP to DOWN. Trunk protocol keepalive requests are issued on the trunk lport once per second. This value defines the failure threshold, that is, the number of consecutive requests that must go unanswered before the Trunk Protocol application will declare the trunk lport DOWN.

What is lportTrkProtFailureThreshold?

This sets how many consecutive per-second keepalive requests can go unanswered on a trunk lport before the Trunk Protocol declares it DOWN, directly controlling detection speed in seconds since keepalives run once per second. An admin lowers this value to detect trunk failures and trigger rerouting faster, at the risk of flapping on a marginal link, or raises it on a noisy trunk to avoid false failovers. For example, setting this to 3 means three consecutive missed keepalives, roughly 3 seconds, will flip the trunk to DOWN and start rerouting the circuits riding it.

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CASCADE-MIB::lportTrkProtFailureThreshold

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.277.1.5.1.1.250.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CASCADE-MIB::lportTrkProtFailureThreshold.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.277.1.5.1.1.250.1 i <value>
