lportTrkDynamicDelay

Module: CASCADE-MIB

OID (symbolic): CASCADE-MIB::lportTrkDynamicDelay

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.277.1.5.1.1.182

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: The recently measured round-tip delay of the trunk. May vary from lportTrkStaticDelay due to congestion, or reprovisioning of the underlying media.

What is lportTrkDynamicDelay?

This read-write value holds the most recently measured round-trip delay of the trunk, continuously refreshed and therefore able to diverge from the fixed lportTrkStaticDelay baseline due to real-time congestion or underlying media reprovisioning, such as the carrier rerouting the physical circuit. An admin monitors this as a live health and performance indicator, since a persistently elevated lportTrkDynamicDelay compared to the static baseline signals either sustained congestion or that the physical path itself has changed for the worse. For example, a carrier silently rerouting a leased line over a longer physical path could cause lportTrkDynamicDelay to climb well above lportTrkStaticDelay even with zero congestion, alerting the admin to investigate a possible circuit reroute.
