OID (symbolic): CASCADE-MIB::lportSmdsCntSip3DaTypeInvalids

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.277.1.5.1.1.121

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Description: Number of instances that SIP3 destination address type is invalid.

What is lportSmdsCntSip3DaTypeInvalids?

This counts instances where the destination address type field, which distinguishes individual versus group SMDS addresses, in a SIP3 PDU header was invalid, one of the address-related validation checks. An admin treats this as a sign of malformed addressing coming from a specific sender, distinct from the address-value checks in lportSmdsCntSip3DaInvalids that follow. For example, if only address-type invalids are climbing while the address-value invalids stay flat, the sending device is likely setting the type-indicator bits incorrectly while otherwise formatting the actual address bytes correctly.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.277.1.5.1.1.121
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CASCADE-MIB::lportSmdsCntSip3DaTypeInvalids

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.277.1.5.1.1.121.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CASCADE-MIB::lportSmdsCntSip3DaTypeInvalids.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.277.1.5.1.1.121.1 i <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> lportSmdsCntSip3DaTypeInvalids.1
