Module: CASCADE-MIB

OID (symbolic): CASCADE-MIB::lportSmdsCntDxi2FrameSizeErrors

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.277.1.5.1.1.116

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Counter

Access: read-write

Description: Number of instances there is a DXI2 frame size error.

What is lportSmdsCntDxi2FrameSizeErrors?

This counts instances where a DXI2 frame received on this interface had an incorrect size, a check distinct from the field-level validation counters since it looks at overall frame length rather than individual header fields. An admin treats a rising count here as a sign the CPE may be sending frames that violate the DXI2 maximum or expected size, potentially due to an MTU misconfiguration on the customer's router. For example, a customer who recently increased their router's interface MTU beyond what the DXI2 encapsulation on this port supports would likely start driving up lportSmdsCntDxi2FrameSizeErrors.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.277.1.5.1.1.116
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CASCADE-MIB::lportSmdsCntDxi2FrameSizeErrors

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.277.1.5.1.1.116.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CASCADE-MIB::lportSmdsCntDxi2FrameSizeErrors.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.277.1.5.1.1.116.1 i <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> lportSmdsCntDxi2FrameSizeErrors.1
