lportSVCRetryTimer
Module: CASCADE-MIB
OID (symbolic): CASCADE-MIB::lportSVCRetryTimer
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.277.1.5.1.1.204
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-write
Description: The duration in seconds (1..255) the network is allowed to re-establish a SVC after network failure before clearing the SVC. A value of (0) indicates continuous retries by the network until the user clears the SVC.
What is lportSVCRetryTimer?
This read-write value sets how long, in seconds, 1 to 255, the network will keep attempting to re-establish a Switched Virtual Circuit after a network-side failure before giving up and clearing the SVC entirely, with a special value of 0 meaning the network retries continuously until the user side explicitly clears the call. An admin tunes this to control how persistent the network is about recovering a dropped SVC versus quickly freeing up the resources for other calls. For example, setting lportSVCRetryTimer to 30 means the network will keep trying to restore a failed SVC for half a minute before giving up and tearing it down, whereas 0 would have it retry indefinitely until the user actively clears it.
Examples
Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.277.1.5.1.1.204 snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CASCADE-MIB::lportSVCRetryTimer
Get a specific instance (index 1):
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.277.1.5.1.1.204.1 snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CASCADE-MIB::lportSVCRetryTimer.1
Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):
snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.277.1.5.1.1.204.1 i <value>
SNMPv3 example:
snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> lportSVCRetryTimer.1
