lportLMIDelay

Module: CASCADE-MIB

OID (symbolic): CASCADE-MIB::lportLMIDelay

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.277.1.5.1.1.146

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: The number of seconds 1-9 to buffer (or initiate) a FR LMI async update (or ATM OAM alarms) to allow filtering of LMI async events. Zero (0) indicates that no buffering is done (all updates are immediate) and 255 indicates that no updates are sent.

What is lportLMIDelay?

This read-write value sets how many seconds, 1 through 9, the switch buffers before sending a Frame Relay LMI asynchronous status update, or an ATM OAM alarm, to filter out rapid, transient LMI events from generating a flood of notifications, with 0 meaning immediate unbuffered delivery and 255 meaning updates are suppressed entirely. An admin raises this modestly on flappy circuits to prevent a storm of async status changes from overwhelming attached CPE or NMS systems, while keeping it low or at 0 where fast notification of real changes matters most. For example, setting lportLMIDelay to 3 means a PVC status flap gets buffered for up to 3 seconds before being reported, potentially coalescing multiple rapid flaps into a single notification instead of several.

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CASCADE-MIB::lportLMIDelay

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.277.1.5.1.1.146.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CASCADE-MIB::lportLMIDelay.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.277.1.5.1.1.146.1 i <value>
