Description: The link status polling timer (secs) on the DTE interface.
What is lportDtePollTimer?
This sets the interval, in seconds, at which the DTE side of the port sends link-status (LMI) polls to its DCE peer to confirm the PVC link is alive. An admin adjusts this to match the LMI polling interval expected by the peer switch or router, since a mismatch between DTE and DCE polling intervals can cause spurious link-down declarations. For example, if the standard LMI T391 interval is 10 seconds, lportDtePollTimer would normally be set to 10 to stay in sync with that convention.
