What is lportAtmVPI?
This read-write value sets the Virtual Path Identifier used in the ATM cell header for this port, with the valid range, 0 to 15 for both ATM DXI/HSSI and ATM UNI DS3/E3 interfaces on this device, constrained by the 4 least-significant bits allocated to VPI on these specific interface types. An admin must configure this to match the VPI the far-end ATM switch or CPE expects for the intended virtual path, since a mismatched VPI means cells simply will not be recognized as belonging to the intended virtual circuit. For example, provisioning a new ATM PVC that the carrier has assigned VPI 5 on requires setting lportAtmVPI to 5 on this port to match, or the connection will not establish correctly.
