What is cardInCells?
This is a running count of ATM cells received across all ports on this card. As the cell-level counterpart to cardInPkts and cardInOctets, this is the metric an admin uses specifically on ATM-facing cards to gauge cell-level traffic volume, which is the native unit ATM switching hardware actually processes rather than a packet abstraction layered on top. For example, an admin dividing cardInErrorCells by cardInCells over the same interval computes a cell error rate to judge line quality on this card's ATM ports.
