cardClp01UAbrThreshold

Module: CASCADE-MIB

OID (symbolic): CASCADE-MIB::cardClp01UAbrThreshold

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.277.1.7.2.1.186

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: The maximum length of UBR/ABR queues in the card. Once queue length reaches this threshold, all cells are discarded until queue length falls below this threshold.

What is cardClp01UAbrThreshold?

This sets the absolute maximum length of the UBR/ABR queue, beyond which the card discards all cells regardless of CLP marking, the ABR/UBR counterpart to cardClp01CbrThreshold. As the absolute ceiling for the lowest-priority queue class on the card, reaching this threshold represents genuine exhaustion of even the most congestion-tolerant traffic's buffer space, which, given ABR/UBR's rate-adaptive and best-effort nature, an admin would treat as a sign of sustained oversubscription on that queue rather than a brief burst. For example, sustained discards at cardClp01UAbrThreshold on the ABR/UBR queue, unlike an isolated brief hit, point to genuine bandwidth oversubscription for best-effort traffic on that card rather than normal burst absorption.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.277.1.7.2.1.186
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CASCADE-MIB::cardClp01UAbrThreshold

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.277.1.7.2.1.186.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CASCADE-MIB::cardClp01UAbrThreshold.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.277.1.7.2.1.186.1 i <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> cardClp01UAbrThreshold.1
