Description: Type of metric (1 or 2) for each external NMS. The default is 1. (This field is not applicable to SLIP- based hosts.)

What is aseMetricType?

This reports the routing metric type, 1 or 2 and defaulting to 1, associated with reaching this external NMS, not applicable to SLIP-based hosts, reflecting how the switch's routing table weighs this path. This is largely an internal routing-protocol detail; an admin would only need to inspect aseMetricType when diagnosing why the switch prefers one NMS route over another.
