sFPError
Module: CAMBIUM-PTP650-MIB
OID (symbolic): CAMBIUM-PTP650-MIB::sFPError
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.17713.7.13.8
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-only
Description: If the SFP link is not OK, there are five possible causes: Either a SFP has been installed but the license key does not include SFP fiber support, a fiber link could not be established even though no LOS was detected (i.e. an optical carrier was detected, which could be due to a broken TX fiber, or because the link is disabled at the fiber link partner), a fiber link could not be established and LOS is detected (i.e. no optical carrier is detected), the installed SFP is not supported or the installed SFP failed to initialize correctly. NB: a change of status may generate an SNMP trap and/or SMTP email alert
What is sFPError?
This read-only value reports the specific reason an SFP fiber link is not OK: a licensing mismatch (SFP installed but not licensed), a fiber link failure without loss-of-signal detected, a fiber link failure with loss-of-signal detected, an unsupported SFP module, or an SFP initialization failure. An admin uses this detailed breakdown, alongside sFPPortStatus, to pinpoint why fiber connectivity has failed; a change here can trigger an SNMP trap or SMTP alert.
Examples
Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.17713.7.13.8 snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CAMBIUM-PTP650-MIB::sFPError
Get a specific instance (index 1):
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.17713.7.13.8.1 snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CAMBIUM-PTP650-MIB::sFPError.1
SNMPv3 example:
snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> sFPError.1
