What is dot1dBasePortMtuExceededDiscards?
This OID counts frames (packets) that a network switch port threw away because they were too large. MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit) is the largest packet size the port accepts. A network operator would check this to detect if hosts are sending oversized packets, which indicates a configuration mismatch or a problem with device MTU settings.
