This is the local ID string used for PPP authentication (PAP/CHAP). In pre4.3 versions the sysName has been used as the local ID string. This is, for increased ease and transparency of system configuration, no longer true. Monitors PPP link quality metrics between LAC and client during dialup sessions. Example: 'RemoteVPN-HQ' or 'DialupGateway01' for peer identification in logs.
