Description: Monitors HTTP server session counts and request statistics on Benu Networks broadband gateway devices.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is BENU-HTTP-SERVER-MIB?
BENU-HTTP-SERVER-MIB is a Benu Networks enterprise MIB for broadband gateway and access devices, focused on the performance of the embedded HTTP management/service server. It exposes performance-counter data organized into statistics intervals, including packet counts and processing-time (latency) measurements for HTTP requests, broken out by GET requests specifically as well as overall traffic. Its monitoring value is squarely software performance status: it lets an operator track HTTP server responsiveness (min/max/average processing time), request volume, and the count of slow requests exceeding a 1ms threshold, which together reveal server overload, degraded response times, or abnormal request patterns. There is no indication of dependency on other standard MIBs; it is a self-contained, vendor-specific performance module. It is typically deployed on Benu Networks broadband gateway/CPE management platforms where the embedded HTTP server is used for provisioning or device management interfaces. Engineers can download the BENU-HTTP-SERVER-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in BENU-HTTP-SERVER-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Benu Networks (acquired by Ciena in 2022) virtual Broadband Network Gateway (vBNG) / broadband access gateway software
Monitoring Examples
An operator would poll bHttpServerLatencyTable/bHttpServerLatencyEntry per bHttpServLatencyStatsInterval to read bHttpServLatencyAvgProcessingTime alongside bHttpServLatencyMaxProcessingTime, watching for sustained increases that indicate the HTTP server is struggling under load. bHttpServLatencyTotalPktCount versus bHttpServLatencyProcessTimeMorethan1MSPktCount gives the proportion of slow requests, useful for spotting degradation before it causes management-plane timeouts. bHttpServLatencyGetMaxProcessingTime isolates whether GET-specific requests are the source of latency spikes.
What Can Be Monitored
- HTTP request processing latency (min/max/avg)
- total HTTP packet count per interval
- count of slow (>1ms) requests
- GET request latency
- statistics interval duration
