What is atmfM4VpUpcNpcHistDiscardedCells?
This object counts the number of ATM cells that were discarded due to congestion policing applied by the UPC/NPC (Usage Parameter Control/Network Parameter Control) function at VP (Virtual Path) level. Cells are dropped for both CLP=0 (cell loss priority 0, important) and CLP=1 (cell loss priority 1, less important) traffic that exceeds the negotiated traffic contract. Network operators monitor this counter to identify periods of congestion and validate that traffic policing is functioning as configured.
