Description:

Indicates that an transmission error condition has occurred on the physical path TP associated with the specified interface.

What is atmfM4IfXmissionErrAlarm?

This notification signals that transmission errors have occurred on an ATM physical interface's transmission path, degrading signal quality. Such errors can result in cell loss, corruption, or line-rate reduction and indicate physical layer issues like signal attenuation or EMI. An operator would inspect the physical interface, check cabling, line quality, and optical power levels to identify and correct the underlying fault.
