arubaWiredMgmdMldSnoopingControlDropUnknownMulticast

Module: ARUBAWIRED-MGMD-SNOOPING-MIB

OID (symbolic): ARUBAWIRED-MGMD-SNOOPING-MIB::arubaWiredMgmdMldSnoopingControlDropUnknownMulticast

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.47196.4.1.1.3.3.1.7

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TruthValue

Access: read-write

Description: When enabled along with MLD Snooping, any IPv6 Multicast packets that are not joined by an MLD host will be restricted to ports that have detected a multicast router or ports that are configured to always forward IPv6 multicast. When set to disabled or when MLD Snooping is disabled, the unjoined IPv6 multicast packets will be flooded out all ports in the VLAN. Permanently assigned multicast addresses are always flooded and so are not impacted by this object.

What is arubaWiredMgmdMldSnoopingControlDropUnknownMulticast?

A TruthValue read-write object controlling IPv6 multicast restriction when MLD Snooping enabled. It prevents unknown IPv6 multicast flooding to non-member ports. Setting to true(1) restricts IPv6 multicast like IPv4 snooping does.
