Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is APPIAN-PPORT-COMMON-MIB?

APPIAN-PPORT-COMMON-MIB is an Appian Communications (broadband access equipment vendor) proprietary MIB reporting physical-port configuration common to all interface types on Appian access platforms. Its interface table, keyed by node/slot/port, records interface type, channel, ifIndex cross-reference, admin/operational status, interface name, and associated subscriber/reseller ID and name. As a configuration/status MIB it lets an administrator confirm which subscriber or reseller a physical port is currently assigned to. It is deployed on Appian Communications broadband access platforms. Engineers can download the APPIAN-PPORT-COMMON-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in APPIAN-PPORT-COMMON-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Appian Communications broadband access platforms

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks acInterfaceSubscriberName for a port reporting a service issue to confirm exactly which subscriber circuit it belongs to on an Appian access platform.
