apexTimeSource

Module: APEX-MIB

OID (symbolic): APEX-MIB::apexTimeSource

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1166.1.31.2.1.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: The source for system time. The time source can be configured to come from an SNTP time source, or be generated internally.

When configured as internal: - The APEX will internally keep time starting at GPS time 0. A user can set the time to a valid GPS time in this mode. - The system time and UTC offset in internal mode are not updated and therefore are not valid.

When configured to receive time via SNTP the SntpServerSpecified object and SntpServiceIP objects can be used to optionally define the SNTP server.

Once written, the change to this parameter will take immediate effect. However, in order for the change to persist through subsequent reboots or power cycles, the change must be saved via the apexSaveConfig parameter.

@Config(config=yes, reboot=no) @Save(apexSaveConfig, value=2) @File(config.ini, type='ini')

What is apexTimeSource?

Configures or reports the source of system time for the APEX device, which can be either an SNTP network time server or an internal clock. This setting determines how the device synchronizes and maintains its reference time.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1166.1.31.2.1.1.1
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> APEX-MIB::apexTimeSource

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1166.1.31.2.1.1.1.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> APEX-MIB::apexTimeSource.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1166.1.31.2.1.1.1.1 i <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> apexTimeSource.1
