apexGbeInputDataTsSmoothingPeriod

Module: APEX-MIB

OID (symbolic): APEX-MIB::apexGbeInputDataTsSmoothingPeriod

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1166.1.31.7.1.1.7

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Integer32

Access: read-write

Description: Input Data stream smoothing period. Amount of time in milliseconds over which the GigE will smooth out input streams that do not contain PCRs. This allows the GigE to play out the input streams with the packets equally spaced out over this period. This helps to reduce network jitter and bursts of data to the output. The smoothing period is used in conjunction with the data stream buffer depth to perform this smoothing algorithm. The smoothing period must be equal to or less than the data stream buffer depth.

Once written, the change to this parameter will take immediate effect. However, in order for the change to persist through subsequent reboots or power cycles, the change must be saved via the apexSaveConfig parameter.

@Config(config=yes, reboot=no) @Save(apexSaveConfig, value=2) @File(bcmr.ini, type='ini')

What is apexGbeInputDataTsSmoothingPeriod?

Specifies the time window (in milliseconds) over which the GbE interface smooths out incoming transport streams that do not contain PCR timing references, spacing packets evenly to reduce downstream jitter. This applies only to PCR-less input streams.
