vStpInsForwardDelay

Module: ALCATEL-IND1-VLAN-STP-MIB

OID (symbolic): ALCATEL-IND1-VLAN-STP-MIB::vStpInsForwardDelay

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.6486.801.1.2.1.12.1.1.1.1.1.16

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Integer32

Access: read-only

Description: This time value, measured in units of hundredths of a second, controls how fast a port changes its spanning state when moving towards the Forwarding state. The value determines how long the port stays in each of the Listening and Learning states, which precede the Forwarding state. This value is also used, when a topology change has been detected and is underway, to age all dynamic entries in the Forwarding Database. (Note that this value is the one that this instance is currently using, in contrast to vStpBridgeForwardDelay which is the value that this instance and all others would start using if/when this bridge were to become the root.)

What is vStpInsForwardDelay?

This read-only timer (in hundredths of seconds) controls how long a port lingers in Listening and Learning states before Forwarding. Typical value is 1500 (15 seconds per state, 30 total); shorter values mean faster convergence but more risk of temporary loops. The root bridge sets this for the entire tree.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.6486.801.1.2.1.12.1.1.1.1.1.16
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> ALCATEL-IND1-VLAN-STP-MIB::vStpInsForwardDelay

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.6486.801.1.2.1.12.1.1.1.1.1.16.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> ALCATEL-IND1-VLAN-STP-MIB::vStpInsForwardDelay.1
