Description:

What is alarmActiveEngineAddressType?
This read-only object identifies the format (IPv4, IPv6, DNS, etc.) of the address stored in the alarmActiveEngineAddress field for the SNMP engine that generated an active alarm. It ensures that management applications can correctly interpret and parse the address regardless of format. An operator uses this to understand which notification source reported an alarm and to send responses to the correct address.
