Module: ADSL-LINE-MIB

OID (symbolic): ADSL-LINE-MIB::adslAturConfUpshiftSnrMgn

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.10.94.1.1.14.1.22

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-create

Description:

Configured Signal/Noise Margin for rate upshift. If the noise margin rises above this level, the modem should attempt to increase its transmit rate. In the case that RADSL is not present, the value will be `0'.

What is adslAturConfUpshiftSnrMgn?

This OID defines the Signal-to-Noise Margin (SNR) threshold in tenths of a dB above which the modem attempts to increase its transmission rate. Network engineers configure this to let the modem capitalize on improved line conditions and automatically boost speed when noise decreases. Setting this to 80 (8.0 dB) causes the modem to attempt upshift to higher rates whenever SNR exceeds 8.0 dB.
