Module: ADSL-LINE-MIB

OID (symbolic): ADSL-LINE-MIB::adslAturConfDownshiftSnrMgn

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.10.94.1.1.14.1.21

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-create

Description:

Configured Signal/Noise Margin for rate downshift. If the noise margin falls below this level, the modem should attempt to decrease its transmit rate. In the case that RADSL mode is not present, the value will be `0'.

What is adslAturConfDownshiftSnrMgn?

This OID stores the Signal-to-Noise Margin (SNR) threshold in tenths of a dB that causes the modem to reduce its transmission rate. Network engineers use this to allow graceful speed reduction when noise increases, preserving the connection rather than losing it. Setting this to 40 (4.0 dB) tells the modem to downshift to lower speed rates if SNR falls below 4.0 dB.
