Description:

Configured maximum Interleave Delay for this channel.

Interleave delay applies only to the interleave channel and defines the mapping (relative spacing) between subsequent input bytes at the interleaver input and their placement in the bit stream at the interleaver output. Larger numbers provide greater separation between consecutive input bytes in the output bit stream allowing for improved impulse noise immunity at the expense of payload latency.

What is adslAtucChanConfMaxInterleaveDelay?

This OID stores a value from 0 to 255 that controls how much spacing is introduced between input bytes in the bit stream to improve error correction. Network engineers adjust this parameter to balance protection against impulse noise (electrical interference) against the added latency that interleaving introduces. A setting of 16 provides moderate noise protection suitable for typical cable runs with acceptable latency trade-offs.
