acosWANRxOverrunErrors

Module: ACOS-MIB

OID (symbolic): ACOS-MIB::acosWANRxOverrunErrors

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2221.1.1.8.2.1.13

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: The total number of frames discarded on this port because of receiver overrun errors.

What is acosWANRxOverrunErrors?

This counter tracks frames lost when the receive buffer fills up faster than the processor can drain it, causing incoming data to be dropped (integer counter). Network engineers use this to detect if the port's input buffer is undersized for sustained traffic rates or if the device CPU is overloaded. A value of 102 indicates the port received more data than it could handle during peak traffic, potentially requiring QoS tuning or hardware upgrade.
