This counter sums the total number of 53-byte ATM cells successfully received on this port since startup, only increasing (integer counter, non-decreasing). Network engineers use this metric to measure ATM link activity, verify capacity utilization, and diagnose cell loss when correlated with error counters. A total of 450,000 cells over an hour translates to about 125 cells/second or approximately 53 kbps, indicating typical ATM traffic volume.
